![]() MVCTC gave me the confidence to apply for my dream. I combined doing hair with my passion for teaching and writing. When I was a young girl, I loved doing hair. MVCTC allowed me to pursue my dream of being a cosmetologist while earning my teaching degree. Awarded WPAFB Teacher Grant and Dream Affiliate Award for OCTELA (2020).Awarded grant from Kids in Need Foundation (two years).Awarded the Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts Outstanding Educator Award (2021).George's Class ( ) where I write about teaching strategies I used within my classroom I have been teaching since 2002 and started my career at Wilbur Wright Middle School for two years, then Belmont High School (2004-2017), and now Stivers School for the Arts (2017-Present). I am currently an English Language Arts (12th grade), Reading Lab teacher (9-10), and Career Exploration teacher at the award-winning art school Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton, Ohio.
